A Letter from Kyoto is an outstanding family drama that depicts the stories of three sisters with different personalities and their mother. Hye Young, who dreams of becoming a writer, returns home to Yeongdo, Busan because things don′t go well for her. Yeongdo is a place where numerous strangers flow in and establish their home, and a legend says that once you enter the place, you cannot leave it easily. The mother of the three sisters was born in Kyoto but has lived most of her life in Yeongdo, and her eldest daughter, Hye Jin, is responsible for the family′s livelihood without leaving the region. The youngest, Hye Joo, tries to leave Yeongdo after graduating from high school. When the film finally reflects the new daily life of the family, which has reached a turning point in life, the subtle vibration of life is transmitted within the calm gaze.
