Bae Seon Yeong, who had eagerly helped her husband, Park Yeong Dal, earn his important government post, finds herself falling in love with Sin Gwang Ho while her husband is away in the United States. The two lovers promise to go away together to some hot springs. However, at the same time, throngs of people are lining up in the streets to participate in the April 19 revolution against the corrupt government. Her son, who is the head of the revolutionaries, gets shot and is hospitalized, and when her husband returns he is arrested for corruption. As the student movement rises and the dictatorial government falls, Seon Yeong realizes her mistake and returns to her family.
