In a heartfelt, moving and revealing biographical documentary, director Chai Bo asks the question, "Where is my hometown?” Born in Hiroshima to Chinese parents, raised in Beijing, she has explored what this question means to her in her previous films as she ventured to her parent’s home province but here, she looks at the connection she has with the city of Hiroshima by visiting a “grandfather”. Chai stays with Toda Eiji, the head of the family-run Kintaro izakaya. He was the man who welcomed her parents when they first stayed in Japan 30 years ago and his family still treat her like a granddaughter. It is through staying with and observing Eiji, his wife Kazuko, their three children and eight grandchildren, that Chai can appreciate bonds of love and friendship between people and the history of Hiroshima, the memories of which provide an answer to a question Chai has long-wrestled with.
