This is a story about a life and death stuggle of the imperial consorts in Qing Dynasty. There are two factions in the Forbidden Palace: Chuan Fei and Xiang Bin. As Chuan fears of losing the emperor's affection, she wants to find a substitute for her in the imperial concubine selection to fight with Xiang over the position of Empress. Si Lin Chun ran away on her wedding day to enter into the imperial concubine selection and she met a man called Ding An on the way. Jing Zhen and Lord Yi Hui grew up together and are deeply in love with each other, but one day Jing determines to be a beloved concubine of the emperor for the betterment of the Mongolia-Qing relationship. The desperate Lord Yi ui finds all kinds of excuses to see Jing constantly. On the other hand, Si finds solace in Lord Yi Hui. The bizarre love triangel turns the Forbidden Palace to a even more chaotic place.
