During the Korean War (1950-1953), the residents of Dolmuji in Hwanghae-do, suffer greatly under the North Korean government and rebel. A bloody battle takes place between the army and the residents with farming tools in their hands. Of all the people only an old man and his young grandson survive and testify the cruelties of the North Korean army.
