A film picturing the lives and adversities of fishermen who live and die in the sea. Gomchi, who lives in an island village, is a sailor who has lost two of his sons at sea but has known fishing as a vocation. In addition, his son Dosan wants to escape from the life of the fishermen who are tired, and the conflict with his father. One day, when the conflict is ongoing, Gomchi and the villagers take a boat and Dosan travels to earn a trip to get out of the island. That night, a big typhoon hits and some of them barely survive, but Dosan decides to try to save his father.
