Asawa Naoki visits Ishikawa Michiko, and while they are having breakfast, he receives a phone call from Kano Rintaro, the head of the First Investigative Division’s Ninth Sub-division, about a murder case that has occurred. The president of Godai Bank was found dead and it seems that he had been struck dead by a miniature model of an eco-city. Godai Bank is financing the development of an eco-city project which is in progress. When Kano and Asawa head over, the crime scene investigation has already begun, and the other members of the Ninth Sub-division – Murase Kengo, Komiyama Shiho, Aoyagi Yasushi and Yazawa Hideaki – are also there. Murase, who had seen the murder weapon that was left behind at the crime scene, is preoccupied about something and leaves with Shiho. Aoyagi and Yazawa complain as they search for eyewitnesses. Meanwhile, Kano, who loiters at the scene alone after the other detectives leave, discovers something that interests him …
