Sugiura Daiki, a jobless university graduate, has difficulty getting an official job offer despite more than 100 job interviews and feels inferior to his good friend Funaki Kanta who works at a top trading firm. His mother Chizuru runs a flower shop by herself and hopes he will get a job at a big company and not be put through the same hardships. One day, his grandmother Tsubouchi Toyo comes to live with them. The handicraft shop she had established with her late husband has gone bankrupt and the house has been seized. She has nowhere to go to. Then, when Chizuru is hospitalized because of a strained back, Toyo starts to help at the flower shop on her own accord. By nature a businesswoman, she works with vigor and enthusiasm. Around that time, she mistakenly takes on a flower decoration assignment for a wedding reception. Despite Daiki’s attempt to turn it down, Toyo is overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the bride, Suo Karen. She gets Daiki involved and works on fulfilling her wish.
