Mitsunori Yagawa is a tuner entrusted with several pianos that survived the atomic bombing in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. He repairs and plays these bombed-pianos by himself, spreading the message of peace while driving around the country. Meanwhile, Eguchi Nanako a university student learns that her mother Kumiko has donated one of their bombed pianos. She happens to meet Yagawa in one of his bombed-piano concerts. Through Yagawa, Nanako traces back to her roots while learning about her grandmother, the bombed-pianos, and Hiroshima.
