Geology professor Goh Jin Ha is on his way to Yan Bian China to give a lecture at the university. Jin Ha becomes lost in reverie as he looks out the window to the awesome sight of Mt. Baek-du. The beautiful landscape takes him back to his youth when he fought on the liberation army in Manchu. In Yan Bian, he runs into his old army buddy Kil Woo and hears the shocking news about his old flame, Lalee Chung and her difficult pregnancy and delivery. All these years, he'd had no idea that Lalee, his lover, wife and once savior, had given birth to their son. After a successful series of lectures at Yan Bian university, Jin Ha sets out to find his wife and son. All these years later, he is both scared and excited to see his old love and his son. With the help of Miran, a Korean Chinese journalist, Jin Ha scours the area for a glimpse of his family. He finally is able to locate his son, Jin Chung but is turned away cruelly by Jin. Jin can't forgive his father who he believes had abandoned his wife and son.
