Based on the novel "Oie san" by Kaoru Tamaoka this drama is made to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation. It's the story of a Kobe-based general trade company called Suzuki Shouten during its existence from the Meiji into the Showa era. It will be told from the viewpoint of the company's female owner Suzuki Yone and its general manager Kaneko Naokichi as they grow a sugar wholesale store to an international general trading company.
