Born in Tokyo in 1948. In October 1966 her senior secretly entered her for the " Toho New Face" test, but she did not want to be an actress because she was going to become a ballerina, but she passed and began doing commercials. In September 1967 she was invited to West Germany by being chosen as a fake007 who was recruited in Unite Film . After that , she appeared in TV drama "Hirashiro Shinichi Hashi" with Kitagawa Mika as her stage name

In 1969, she first appeared in movie "Redhead" produced by Mifune Productions . Since then, she appeared in movies , TV dramas, etc.

1982 September with Toshiro Mifune she gave birth to Mika Mifune . Toshiro Mifune was then 62 years old, Kitagawa was 34 years old. Toshiro Mifune was still married at the time . It was not recognized until 1998 when Toshiro Mifune died, and was recognized by the will.
