Considered one of the most handsome and talented Japanese performers at the time he worked, Okada-san was a Japanese silent film star. He was a progenitor of the modern "flower boy" trend (an actor prettier and more romantic than the typical rough leading man).
Before his career could fully mature, tuberculosis claimed this talented man at the age of 31. He left behind a daughter, Mariko, who would become a film actress herself--as well as several films made together with famous directors Ozu Yasujiro and Mizoguchi Kenji.
