Kika and friends live in a Shanghai apartment. They are a young group of smart but confused Chinese women struggling to understand the outside world. Chief among their concerns is their friend Bei, an ex-ballet dancer who is now a drug-addicted raver undergoing a sexual identity crisis. Bei also thinks he has AIDS. This worries him and his friends as they confront the prospect of death and the stigma of carrying such a disease, but it also strengthens their bond.
