A sequel in name only to the hit Jet Li film The Tai Chi Master (also directed by Yuen Woo Ping), the film stars martial arts superstar Jacky Wu Jing as a young man shielded from the world by his overprotective father. Once he gets out, he's able to find romance with Western-educated Rose (Christy Chung), as well as do battle with evil opium smugglers, and "The Great Kick of the North" (Billy Chow), a roving martial artist who'll challenge anything in sight. However, "The Great Kick" has his work cut out for him: the young man's years of shelter allowed him the opportunity to develop the "Pig Tail Stance", a powerful martial art which - combined with Dad's Tai Chi training - makes him nigh-impossible to defeat in combat.
