Loosely based on the Chinese folk tale Zui Da Jin Zhi(醉打金枝), Sheng Ping is a wilful princess who is also passionate about Jiju. To see her favourite Jiju player Chen Shao Tang, Princess Sheng Ping sneaks out of palace and in the process has several hilliarious encounters with the sixth son of the Prince of Fenyang, Guo Ai. Starting out on the wrong foot, the two slowly became the best of friends after helping each out of various problems and made several important friends along the way. They are brought together after their respective romances failed to work out and they were finally married with the blessings of everyone. Married life was not easy due Sheng Ping's higher status, and their relationship takes a turn for the worse when Guo Ai's former lover Luo Xia re-appears to drive a wedge between the two. When the angry Sheng Ping failed to attend her father-in-law's 70th birthday anniversary, Guo Ai in a drunken rage, hits Princess Sheng Ping...
