There is a place that seems familiar, yet remains strange; a place to await death. It is the hospice ward. Patients there play games, enjoy leisure time and take walks with family. Death is the same, but how one deals with it is different for each person. Some want it to come as soon as possible and their families calmly prepare for that day. Others cannot accept it and their families are not prepared. The film silently records the daily lives of the patients, their families, the medical staff and the volunteers at the hospice. There are no medical drama-style emergencies, only day-to-day conversations and life’s small moments. But that day does come. And even to those who knew it was coming and were waiting for it, death is still something we cannot get used to.
