Off the coast of Korea lies Jeju Island. It is a time of great turbulence for Jeju as the forces of imperialism threaten the island. Under urgent circumstances, Lee Jae Soo, a messenger boy, who was dreaming of a simple life with Sook Hwa, a beautiful young girl, becomes commander of the rebel forces in the Jeju Insurrection of 1901. At the very moment of accepting his position as commander, Lee Jae Soo realizes he can no longer be who he was and that there was no turning back. As he is confronted with the questions of good and evil, a test of loyalty, and the bittersweet nature of history.
