Wai-Tung Gao is a gay Taiwanese immigrant in his late 20s living happily with his partner Simon in Manhattan. However, Wai-Tung's parents are eager to see him get married and have a child, so they enlist the help of a dating service to find Wai-Tung a bride. Wai-Tung makes a deal with a mainland Chinese woman to marry her so that she can acquire her green card, and thus simultaneously placating his parents.
His plan backfires when his parents arrive in the United States to plan his wedding banquet.
