Then Summer Came is a Japanese movie written and directed by Ryo Iwamatsu. It premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival on June 19, 2008 and was released by stylejam in Japan a month later. Tamio and his father Nobuo are a completely irresponsible pair who are stuck in the rut of their own roles of parent and child. With Tamio’s wedding on the horizon both men go through tremendous, and occasionally misguided efforts to make the event special.
