Tora meets Fumi, while on a peddling junket to a small island in the Inland Sea. Tora is magnetized by Fumi even though knowing little or nothing about her. Tora encounters Fumi again in Osaka. Then, he comes to know that Fumi makes her living as a geisha. Tora sends a postcard to Toraya in Shibamata to have his family know that he is having a good time with Fumi in Osaka.
