Right after Imjin-waeran (Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592-1598), a gang of thieves run by Im Geol Nyeon exploits the people in Gongju, Chungcheong-do. The government gives Jeong Gi Ryong the mission to sweep the mob. Im Geol Nyeon suddenly mobilizes all his subordinates and makes a surprise attack on the government forces, but they are hugely defeated and hide in a cave. Jeong Gi Ryong infiltrates the cave all by himself. He cuts off the boss's head and then tells others to go home and live honestly.
