Dong shik is a lecturer who grew up an orphan. He laments the fact that he can no longer support himself. He becomes a male prostitute. When he first sees Soo Ok, Dong Shik realizes that they are from the same fabric. He proposes to her. Her mother serviced foreign military men when Soo Ok was young. She managed to graduate college. When her boyfriend Duk Gi learns of Soo Ok's family history, he dumps her. Dong Shik injures himself so Soo Ok moves into his apartment. As the two eagerly work towards living normal lives, Duk Gi comes looking for Soo Ok and insults her. Unable to bear his insult, Soo Ok kills Duk Gi. Subsequently, Soo Ok and Duk Gi swim out to the blue ocean, searching for their utopia.
